Perks are more important than ever in Fallout 76 since the game is now online-only and you need to gain an advantage in whichever way you possibly can. The perks in the game still seem to follow the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system of old from previous Fallout games, but they work differently in the sense that you need to equip Perk Cards in order to use them.
