NOTES
Four Strips are worked separately, then sewn together.
Each Strip is worked back and forth in rows of 4 different slip stitch patterns, forming 4 squares in each Strip.
With yarn in front (wyif) refers to the side of the work facing you as you work the row; with yarn in back (wyib) refers to the side of the work that is away from you as you work the row. To move yarn from front to back or back to front, bring yarn between needles. Take care not to wrap yarn over a needle, this could create an additional st.
An I-cord border is worked all the way around the outside edge of Afghan.

With A, cast on 53 sts.
Work in Slip Stitch pattern I for 98 rows, end with a Row 2 of pattern as the last row you work.
Work in Slip Stitch pattern II for 98 rows, end with a Row 2 of pattern as the last row you work.

Sew long edges of Strips together in order, 1-2-3-4.
Border
With A, cast on 3 sts. From RS, pick up and k1 st on edge of Afghan, slip 4 sts on right needle to left needle; pulling yarn tightly across back of work, k2, k2tog through back loops, * pick up and k1 st along edge of Afghan, slip 4 sts on right needle to left needle; pulling yarn tightly across back of work, k2, k2tog through back loops; rep from * all the way around outer edge of Afghan, picking up and knitting about 52 sts evenly spaced along side edge of each square.
Do not bind off, sew last 3 sts to 3 cast-on sts.
Weave in ends.
